Our Story
Custom Stringing by EASG is more than a business — it’s a calling and a legacy we’re building with God’s guidance.
My name is E.A. Gray, Owner & Head Stringer. My journey with stringing began as a young boy in New Jersey when my dad taught me how to make keychains from spools of lace. On my mom’s Swedish side, my Mormor showed me the joy of creating with my hands. Those early experiences planted seeds that God would later water.
In 2005, I walked on to the lacrosse team at SCAD (MCLA DII) with no experience. I fell in love with the sport and became obsessed with stringing the perfect pocket. I later transferred to NYIT (NCAA DII) and continued refining my craft. What started as helping teammates grew into something much bigger.
The Tennis Chapter
Around 2020, my wife Amber and I were looking for a sport we could both enjoy together for a lifetime. She had been playing tennis since high school, so we decided I could give it a try too. We trained under a great coach, joined our tennis community, and began competing in USTA leagues. Through my doubles partner Joshua (a certified stringer), I learned the art of tennis stringing. What began as a simple barter turned into a true passion. I eventually bought my own Gamma XLT stringer and now string for our family and teammates who trust the quality of our work.
My Passion
Helping athletes perform at their best with gear made with care, precision, and love — all to the glory of God.
My Vision
To build a legacy brand where players receive elite custom stringing and dyeing, and one day pass this passion on to my children.
My Purpose & Mission
I’m starting this business for my son and any future children. My mission is to restore confidence on the field and court, share my love for the game, and teach my children the craft so they can one day run and grow it themselves. This is more than a business — it’s a family legacy built on faith, hard work, and excellence.
